Actuarial Analyst, Group Insurance

Reporting to the Vice President of Group Insurance, the job holder will serve as a group insurance analyst and will work closely with other analysts, as well as with the firm’s consultants and actuaries.

• Analysis of renewal terms and negotiations with insurers;
• Preparation of requests for proposals, analysis of bids (including financial projections and contractual variances), and recommendations;
• Periodic review of claims experience and projection of future renewals;
• Analysis of group insurance plans (coverage, claims history, calculation of total costs including employee taxes and employer payroll taxes);
• Determination of premiums and taxable benefits per pay period;
• Drafting of various documents for clients, their employees, and insurers;
• Use of and participation in the continuous improvement of our internal IT tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or a related field, or relevant experience in group insurance;
• 5 to 10 years of experience in group insurance plan underwriting;
• Consulting experience (an asset);
• Excellent proficiency in Excel and good knowledge of other MS Office tools;
• Functional bilingualism in French and English;
• Fellow status with the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or the SOA, or expected to achieve it soon (an asset).
